How long is a play?

LT Site

The length of a play varies from one work to another. Whether it's an original production or a revival of a complete text, the duration can change. On average, a play lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes with an intermission . Indeed, the audience needs to be captivated throughout the performance in order to appreciate it and stay until the end. Some complete works can last up to ten hours. However, many directors adapt plays to be shorter than 1 hour and 30 minutes in order to keep the audience attentive and entertained.
