For several days, the Avignon Festival brings together thousands of curious visitors eager to discover renowned artists or those on the verge of becoming so. This year again, plays, opera arias, and performances of all kinds will resonate in the streets and in the various venues of the city.

For the occasion, the Laurette Theatre opens its doors to the public!

Here is the planned program for the 2023 edition .

Avignon Festival 2023 Program

At Laurette Theatre, we wish for this consecutive year to give young and old the opportunity to immerse themselves in the heart of live performances through a program created with talented artists.

For the upcoming Avignon Festival, here's what we're proposing:

1.
Happy birthday!

Ludo thought he'd be spending his birthday evening alone at home, but life had other plans… Or at least his neighbors did. This play shows that nothing really happens by chance, since “four characters who have nothing in common [...] will learn to know each other, to appreciate each other, and to celebrate.”.

2.
Following in the footsteps of Arsène Lupin: between magic and mentalism

Through strange phenomena, mind reading and manipulation, numerology, magic, mentalism, behavioral studies and predictions, Jean-Michel Lupin follows in the footsteps of the famous Arsène Lupin!

3.
My roommate is a bitch

A café-theatre is setting up in the Laurette Theatre to bring you a hilarious story where many memorable lines have been making headlines for over 10 years! A witty confrontation between a 50-year-old man and a mischievous woman awaits you.

4. Women are equal to men… Well, normally!

For 1 hour and 15 minutes, the role and status of women are re-examined. Is the man truly the dominant one in the couple, or is it the woman who leads him to believe he is? Laurent Mentec revisits the ups and downs of a couple's life with a great deal of philosophy and humor.

5. Me, my husband, my troubles

Arielle has everything to be happy, but she's bored in her marriage… So she decides to place an ad to spice up her sex life, while at the same time her husband places an ad to sell his car. When the visitors arrive, a series of misunderstandings ensues!

6. God Bless America

Franck, unemployed, lives in a bleak America. He decides to take justice into his own hands. Joined and accompanied by Roxy, a rebellious high school student, they form a high-energy team. Get ready for a ride on "the roads of American-style stupidity"!

7. Mars and Venus

Are men and women meant to live together? This humorous play, directed by Sébastien Cypers, questions not only the couple but also the individual!

8. Don Juan

In this interactive play, experience a new type of theatre where you are the hero! A complex montage of 7 different versions of the famous Don Juan myth gives you the opportunity to explore one of 84 scenarios and one of 8 possible endings.

This unique adventure is staged by Imago Des Framboisiers.

9. Foster family

Isabelle is starting to get annoyed by the presence of her brother, whom she's been housing. Then one day, he applies to become a foster parent for the animal shelter! Alfred's arrival in their lives will completely turn their routine upside down… If you enjoy misunderstandings, plot twists, and comical situations, this play is for you.

10. The door next door

Directed by Raphaël Pelissou, this show places the spectator in front of a theatrical comedy where neighborhood, couple and human compatibility problems are mixed together.

11. Zoom in

Christophe Pradlate, the famous host of a popular reality TV show, is now taking to the stage at our theater. During this 2023 Avignon Festival , you'll be swept away in a live police investigation!

12. No Exit

Directed by Raphaël Pelissou, this major work by Jean-Paul Sartre revisits the stage. During a closed-door trial, each character judges and is judged for all the acts they have committed. Three lives are thus called into question.

No Exit places the viewer face to face with their own demons, which coexist in the hells of each and every one of them…

Throughout the 2023 Avignon Festival, come and discover a variety of shows open to all in the halls of the Laurette Theatre. A unique experience guaranteed!
