What is mentalism?

Mentalism is an art that involves reading the thoughts of audience members during a performance. These thoughts can be present, past, or future. It's a show where laughter, emotion, and surprises are guaranteed.

Thanks to their expertise, mentalists alter spectators' perception of reality. To do this, they apply various techniques such as suggestion, psychology, illusions, tricks, NLP, hot reading, cold reading, etc.

The techniques used by mentalists

The goal of mentalist shows in Lyon's theaters is to perform paranormal phenomena such as predictions. Indeed, they are able to predict the future, guess a word, a name, etc. They are also capable of recreating other phenomena such as telepathy, clairvoyance, intuition, synchronicity, precognition, hypnosis, mental calculation, exceptional memory, telekinesis, and so on.

Telepathy is one of the best-known techniques in mentalism, through which the mentalist transmits precise information to a spectator via hints, suggestibility techniques, and persuasion. In their shows at the Lyon theater, mentalists can demonstrate their ability to perform calculations with phenomenal speed, relying on specific skills. Telekinesis involves moving objects remotely using only the power of thought.

The success of mentalism shows in Lyon theatres

Mentalism shows in Lyon theatres are very successful because of the mentalists' ability to touch the spectators' intimacy by revealing very personal information such as a date of birth, a ticket serial number borrowed at random from members of the audience, etc.

At the Laurette Theatre in Lyon, you'll also have the opportunity to see a modern mentalism show that involves audience participation. The mentalists sometimes ask questions of the audience. As mentioned earlier, this is neither magic nor supernatural phenomena. The techniques used by the mentalists at the Lyon theatre are simply meant to puzzle and intrigue, surprising and entertaining the audience.

What does a one-man mentalist show at the theatre in Lyon consist of?

During a one-man mentalist show at a theater in Lyon, two eccentric mentalists are invited to compete in front of the audience to entertain the crowd. This one-man mentalist show is an interactive performance where the audience chooses the winner.

In this one-man mentalist show, performers take turns presenting their acts. Their main mission is to entertain the audience by doing the surprising things mentioned earlier. The winning mentalist will defend their title at the next one-man mentalist show, facing a new competitor.

This is the kind of show that will keep both children and adults entertained. It lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. The show was written by Patrick Gadais and directed by Laurent Bariohay. You can book tickets online or by phone.
