How to participate in the Avignon Off Festival

From July 7 to 29, 2023, the Avignon Off Festival is preparing to host no fewer than 1,491 shows (including 466 new creations) in 141 theaters across the city. For this 57th edition, 1,270 French companies and 125 international companies are expected! These aren't record numbers, but they're still impressive…


Whether you are a festival-goer or a live entertainment professional, it is necessary to prepare your visit to the venue!


Festival-goers: book your place for the Avignon Off Festival


If you wish to attend the Avignon Off Festival , book your tickets from physical or online ticket outlets . If you choose Ticket'off, you can purchase tickets up to one hour before the start of the performances, allowing you to book at the last minute if you have any doubts or your plans change!


If a ticket is no longer available for purchase online, it does not necessarily mean the show is sold out. We advise you to always check with the theatre directly for availability.


Other usual retailers are available.


You can indeed collect your orders from Fnac, Carrefour, Leclerc, Cultura, Auchan, Virgin Megastore, Galeries Lafayette stores, or online on specialized sites such as TicketMaster, Casino, Darty, Ticketac, France Billet, Billetreduc, etc.

Participating in the Avignon Off Festival for professionals


Performing arts professionals, to help you prepare for your participation in the Avignon Off Festival, support artistic creation, and ensure the festival's continued success for this new edition, the Avignon Festival & Companies (AF&C) association is here to assist you. You can contact them for all the necessary information.


In the meantime, here are the key steps to follow to prepare for your visit:


  • Finding a performance venue : to do this, feel free to contact the theaters directly, or use the online search tool available on the Festival Off website. Each of the festival's 130 theaters has its own artistic identity and manages its programming independently!


If you wish to present your show on the stage of the Laurette Theatre, for example, go to our website and fill out the form that is sent to you; available online.


  • Contract between you and the theatre


  • Registration for AF&C services : this registration is free.


How much does a theatre ticket cost during the festival?


During the Avignon Off Festival, ticket prices can vary from €11 to €25 depending on the performance you choose and the theater you wish to attend. However, you can often find special offers directly at ticket outlets, online, or on social media.


All requests for reduced fares must be justified at the ticket office and this applies to:


  • Young people under 25,
  • The students,
  • Those receiving RMI/RSA benefits, people with reduced mobility 
  • People over 65, 
  • Holders of a senior citizen card, a performing arts holiday card, 
  • Freelance entertainment workers, 
  • Pregnant women, veterans, 
  • Children under 12 
  • The FNCTA (amateur theatre), conservatory students, students in professional theatre courses (La School, Simon, Florent, Perimony…), 
  • Holders of a Large Family Card, a Public Member Card (formerly Off Card).


Please note, no tickets are offered free of charge for children!


You can also buy a special pass for €35 at the Laurette Theatre box office to have access to 4 shows of your choice throughout the festival.


During the Avignon Off Festival, all Off Festival card holders automatically receive a 33% discount on all shows during the festival. It's a great opportunity to participate and fully enjoy this world-renowned event!
