LAURETTE FUGAIN ASSOCIATION

TOGETHER AGAINST LEUKEMIA

"We all have the power to give life back to these patients who are at their wits' end."

By donating our blood, our platelets. By registering on the national bone marrow donor registry.

So that no more patients will die for lack of a donor.

Let's act together. Let's give a little of our lives. Let's support research

Laurette Fugain Association

The Laurette Fugain association, which fights against leukemia, was created in 2002 and works around three main missions:

1. Supporting Medical Research

The Laurette Fugain Foundation is today one of the leading non-profit contributors to leukemia research funding, having allocated €4.6 million to 100 projects since its inception. The Laurette Fugain Scientific and Medical Council (CSM) comprises renowned professors of hematology and selects the most relevant and promising research projects following a call for proposals from the scientific community.

The Laurette Fugain Prize rewards young researchers in hematology.

The Young Researchers Hope Grant allows promising young doctors to attend international conferences.

2. Mobilizing around life donations

It is still too little known that each of us can help patients with leukemia or other forms of cancer fight their disease, simply by giving a little bit of life. Laurette Fugain raises awareness about life-saving donations (blood, plasma, platelets, bone marrow, cord blood, and organs) to make everyone aware that giving of oneself saves lives and works to facilitate the transition to concrete action through donation. The annual organization of large-scale events, the numerous interventions carried out within companies, and the support provided by all sporting projects allow for

continue raising awareness among the general public.

3. Helping patients and families

Laurette Fugain supports initiatives by hospital staff to improve care and the reception of families. Supporting the implementation of innovative and specific projects within hematology departments is a fundamental mission to which Laurette Fugain is committed.

The Isabelle Prize is awarded annually to a healthcare team for its professional and human qualities and funds a project aimed at improving the hospitalization conditions of patients in hematology care units.

The Nicolas Scholarship enables healthcare professionals to participate in training courses or inter-departmental exchanges. Finally, donations to hospital departments (computer equipment, TVs, DVD players, toys, sports equipment, murals in treatment rooms) improve the well-being of patients during their hospital stay.

The actions carried out by Laurette Fugain enabled the awarding of the Grande Cause Nationale label in 2009 for Life Donations and notably generated a significant increase in blood donations, platelets and registrations on the bone marrow donor registry.
